3. Building time

Upon transferring to CFB Trenton, Ontario, from Comox, I found that an affordable way to build time was to fly as a volunteer with the Air Cadets. This pic of a 2-33 being launched by winch was taken at Mountainview, a WW2 training base in Prince Edward County south of Belleville. The Schweitzer 2-33 was the training workhorse of the Air Cadet Gliding program.

The 2-33s owned by the Air Cadet Association (at least in Ontario) were all maintained at the Mountainview facility, and most were stored there during the winter months. My old log books indicate that I flew about a dozen different 2-33s at Mountainview.
